Studies on the rational utirization of Silkworm Feces

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to rational utilization of silkworm feces, the authors studied their fundamental chemical components and the conditions for extraction of chlorophyll.
The results were as follow;
1. Dry silkworm feces(water content 11.2%) contained 0.18% of chloropyll.
2. Over 61% of the chlorophyll was obtained from dry silkworm feces by methanol extraction. about 6% of the crude lipid was simultaneousely extracted.
3. More than 84% of the chorolphyll and about 2% of the crude liptd were obtained with aceton extraction.
